Additional options are available with the Steer-degree-of-Freedom on card 26, sequence 1. When inserting the card from medit simply indicate Sequence No 1 in the Insert Card box.
M-edit includes the provision to include the effects of a steer degree-of-freedom (SDOF) steering system during a simulation run. The steer degree-of-freedom was included to model the effects of an undamaged steering system during spinout subsequent to a collision. The model is similar to the SDOF included in the Highway Vehicle Object Simulation Model (HVOSM) program (e.g., Ref. 15).

Vehicle #2 Steer degree-of-freedom Option Inputs End time for Steer Degree of Freedom. Permits the option to stop the simulation of a steer-degree-of-freedom and set the steer angle to a fixed value (for example, if during a spinout subsequent to a collision the tires lock in position due to damage) |
